Our Occupational Therapists provide:

  • Assessment and Consultancy – The entry point for all services
  • Parent Coaching & “Child’s Team” Capacity Building
  • Home, Preschool, School & Community Visits
  • Targeted 1:1 or Sibling Sessions
  • School Holiday “Super Intensive” 1:1 or Sibling Sessions

Our AKOT Team of occupational therapists are skilled and experienced in working with children and families, including teens who are transitioning to adult independence.

We work with you, with your child, and with your “Child’s Team” to:

  • Develop independence in daily living
  • Build friendships and social engagement
  • Improve social and community participation
  • Strengthen talents and interests
  • Increase success at school

Our Occupational Therapists have broad ranging expertise to work with you, your child and with your child’s team to meet goals including:

Diagnosis is not required for referral however children may come to AKOT with a diagnosis or differences associated with being neurodivergent, including Autism Spectrum (ASD), Attention Deficit (ADHD), Anxiety, Sensory Processing (SPD) or Developmental Coordination (DCD aka Dyspraxia), Learning challenges, Behaviour challenges, Extreme Demand Avoidance (PDA), or PANDAS/PANS.
