Home and Community Life Skills
Guided by an OT and delivered by an Allied Health Assistant (AHA) Home & Community Life Skills extends therapy beyond the clinic into the child or teens natural environments, supporting daily living skills, social engagement and community participation.

- Daily Living Skills Training and Support
- Social Engagement Support
- Community Skills Training and Support
- Developmental and Play Skills Support – Home and Preschool
We have a dedicated team of Allied Health Assistants who bring a valued mix of qualifications, interests, work and life experiences to our children, youth and families.
Best Practice is built into our service design
- Following assessment and intervention with our occupational therapist a Service Plan is developed collaboratively with parents (and child) outlining the goals, scope and location of services.
- Following each session the AHA formulates a Session Reflection which can be reviewed by the occupational therapist.
- Formal ongoing program monitoring and upgrading occurs via regular OT/AHA Programming Meetings. Meeting minutes and relevant resources are emailed to parents and other team members as arranged following each meeting.
- Parents are invited to book a consultation with the occupational therapist as needed to review progress and set future direction of goals or services.
